1956 Gibson ES-130
SOLD
Case: Chipboard case
Description:

Available for a short period from 1954-1956 as the ES-130, and then from 1956-1958 as the ES-135, this model was the “fancified” version of the 16.25” ES-125, one of Gibson’s most popular archtop offerings. Standard appointments include a carved spruce top, mahogany sides, laminate maple back, trapeze tailpiece with raised diamond, single binding on the top and back, single bound mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, adjustable rosewood bridge, single dog ear P-90 with volume and tone controls, and 3-on-plate tuners. The ES-130 also featured a laminated beveled edge pickguard, which is unfortunately no longer with the guitar, and the crumbling plastic buttons on the original tuners were replaced. Currently set up with D’Addario Jazz Light XL Chromes .11-.50.
