This 1912 Gibson A-3 features a carved spruce top, single-bound birch back & sides, single-bound mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, ivoriod soundhole rosette, vine pattern headstock inlay, one-piece compensated bridge, open-gear tuners, and engraved “The Gibson” tailpiece. This mandolin retains the original tuners, bridge, tailpiece, and finish; the original shellac varnish finish on the top was polished out some (along with the face of the headstock), and a clear pickguard was added to the top. Comes in a hardshell case.
