This special edition Gallagher “Doc Watson” model was #5 of 10 produced for The Music Barn in Greensboro, NC, well-known purveyors of bluegrass instruments in the area. Five were produced with cutaways, five without. Each was built by Don Gallagher, who then signed and numbered the labels along with Doc Watson. The special model features a spruce top, African mahogany back & sides, mahogany neck with 1 3/4” nut width (1.785” with calipers), ebony fingerboard with Doc’s signature inlaid at the 12th fret, ebony bridge with pearl dots and drop-in saddle, flamed maple body, neck & headstock binding, and Schaller tuners. This guitar has spent most of its life in storage, and as a result is in excellent cosmetic condition. Comes in the original hardshell case.
