The elegantly understated S Series mandolins from Northfield use the same select tone woods and are built by the same team as their varnish models. The lacquer finish on these instruments is made to be stronger than the more delicate spirit varnish, yet still be very thin as to not inhibit vibration and dampen the liveliness of the instrument.

This gently used F5S was traded in on a "Big Mon" model and features an Adirondack top, maple back, sides & neck, upgraded engraved James tailpiece (a $200 option), traditional sunburst with Ivoroid binding, and the standard 1 1/8" nut width. The only sign of play-wear is a shiny spot on the satin finish where an arm would rest. Comes housed in the original Airloom "Recurve" case. Demo video coming soon!
