The A-00 mandolin was one of Gibson’s budget-friendly offerings, produced from 1933 through the early 1940’s, featuring a carved Spruce top, maple back & sides, mahogany neck with 1 3/16” nut, rosewood fingerboard, adjustable rosewood bridge, clamshell nickel tailpiece, and open-gear tuners. This particular example is in fine condition, with minimal play wear for a mandolin approaching 90 years old and fret wear under the first three frets. The original pickguard and bracket are no longer with the mandolin; most like the pickguard just disintegrated and was removed. Comes in the original/period hardshell case.
