This piece of history is 1 of 17 original flathead Granada models with an original 5-string neck produced by Gibson, Factory Order Number 9584-1. The Factory Order Number prefix 9584 is well known among players and collectors as the series that produced Earl Scruggs (9584-3) and Sonny Osborne's (9584-2) RB-Granada banjos. Only five banjos were produced with this number, (9584-1, 9584-2, 9584-3, 9584-4, and 9584-5). Of those five banjos, only four left the factory as original 5-string flathead Granadas, (9584-4 left much later as a TB-18).
