1994 R.L. Givens A4
$3,495.00
Case: Hardshell case
Description:

Mr. Givens made instruments between 1962 and 1992, roughly 800 by hand and another 700 in his production shop. This A4, built towards the end of that period, is a well-built instrument with more simple cosmetic appointments and wood selections, making it a more affordable option in their lineup. It features an A-style body with spruce top, plain maple back & sides, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 1 1/8” nut width, pearl dot position markers, compensated rosewood bridge, nickel tailpiece, and open-gear tuners with pearl-style buttons. 14” scale. Cosmetically, there some expected wear from an instrument that was played over the last 34 years. There are pick marks and minor scratches in various places on the top, and one area where the finish was touched up on the treble side below the bridge. The back is in nice shape, with minimal “button wear”. There is one small nick on the back of the neck where it comes to a point near the heel, and a strap button has been added. The mandolin has received a previous, well-executed refret. Comes in a hardshell case.
