This A style, built by Bob Shue, is a powerful and open sounding mandolin that will eat the lunch of many other instruments in this price range. It has what appears to be an Engelmann spruce top, mahogany back & sides, 3 piece neck design (mahogany/maple/mahogany) with rosewood fingerboard, and open gear tuners. The mandolin plays nicely with action at 4/64” on the low E, 3/64” on the high E , but without room for further downward adjustment without reshaping the bottom of the bridge. Scale length is roughly 13.5”, nut width measures 1.213” with calipers. Comes in a hardshell case.
