2004 Apitius Classic
SOLD
Case: Hardshell case
Description:

New price! This "Classic" model by luthier Oliver Apitius is based on a Loar period F-style mandolin, appointed very similarly to the "Vanguard" model. According to Mr. Apitius, this mandolin was completed in December of 2004, using violin woods he would import from Germany. It features a German spruce top & beautifully matched German maple back & sides. The neck carve is reminiscent of the thinner, soft V neck profiles often associated with Loar instruments. Nut width according to Apitius specs would be 29mm (5/32"), but this one is a touch wider at 29.5mm (1.167"). There is some minor fret wear under the E & A strings through the first four frets, and some minor play wear on the top (contact us for more photos!). Comes in a hardshell case.
