Designed in collaboration with Doc Watson, the Vintage Artist model is a combination of pre-war D-18 inspiration and Santa Cruz's philosophy of adding modern touches where beneficial. The results speak for themselves! This Vintage Artist features a beautifully aged Sitka spruce top with herringbone trim, mahogany back & sides, forward-shifted scalloped X bracing pattern, mahogany neck with 1.716" nut width (between 11/16" and 3/4"), Ivoriod bindings, and Waverly tuners. Cosmetically the guitar shows some signs of play wear, mostly some minor pick wear on the bass side of the top and some swirling on the back from shirt buttons. The guitar is currently set up with what could be described as "medium bluegrass" action; the saddle is somewhat low, but there is still some room for further downward adjustment. Comes in a hardshell case.
