The Northfield Rival is a unique design that is exceptionally fun to play and feels great in your hands. Although initially inspired by the archtops made by Martin in the 1930’s, the complex arching, tone bars, and flat back yielded something altogether different. According to Northfield, “everything that we changed to make it more focused-sounding and more comfortable, yielded a remarkably efficient acoustic chamber.” 

The Rival Guitar features an Alpine Italian Red Spruce top, highly flamed Michigan Maple back, sides & neck, multi-ply tortoise-style binding, adjustable ebony bridge, ebony fingerboard with compound 12.5” to 17” radius, ebony pickguard, Northfield/Nugget plated brass tailpiece, Schertler tuners, Antique Cremona sunburst, finished with a hybrid varnish finish. 24” scale, 1 11/16” nut width, 13.7” lower bout, 3.15” body depth at endpin, 2.6” body depth at heel. This guitar is in fantastic condition, with hardly any visible signs of play wear. Comes in the original Northfield Tura carbon fiber case.
