This is the second Roy Noble dreadnought we have played, the other being the Noble formerly owned by Billy Strings. Mr. Noble was also known for building some guitars for Clarence White.  This particular dreadnought features a spruce top with three-piece Brazilian back & sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge with drop-in saddle, herringbone top trim & rosette, maple body & neck bindings, and Grover turners. The guitar has some unusual construction methods including rosewood x-brace mains (with very scalloped bracing) and a bolt-on neck construction that employs a unique heel block design. The frets are in good shape and appear to have been recently dressed; the guitars plays well with good action (3.5/32” bass side, 3/32” treble), but the saddle is somewhat low. There are some finish imperfections you’d expect with a 36-year old hand-made instrument; an area of finish touched up on the bass side, and some minor finish bubbling around the tuner screws & neck joint. Nut width measures 1.730” with calipers, which would most closely correspond with 1 23/32”. Comes in a hardshell case.
