New price! As you can probably tell from the fingerboard inlay, this '39 Authentic D-18 was built for one of the winners at the Walnut Valley Festival's National Flatpicking Championships, also known as "Winfield". It features true-to-era appointments including an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back & sides, rear-shifted scalloped bracing, all hide glue construction, 1 11/16" nut width, mahogany neck with Authentic neck carve and heel, and period-correct style 18 appointments. This model is pre-VTS (short for Martin's "Vintage Tone System"), so it sports a standard nitrocellulose finish instead of the "Vintage Gloss" formulation. Cosmetically it shows very few signs of play wear, and comes housed in the original case with all the "case candy".
