1953 Martin 00-18
SOLD
Case: Hardshell case
Description:

This excellent '53 00-18 is a wonderful player featuring a tight bass response, plenty of midrange, and a balanced top end. Built during one of Martin's "Mystery Top" years, this one most certainly sports a Red Spruce top, mahogany back, sides & neck, rosewood bridge & fingerboard, tortoise style guard, and open-gear tuners. This guitar had a previous neck reset and refret at Gruhn Guitars before it was purchased by its most recent owner; the finish, pickguard, and bridge are all original to the instrument. The bridge plate is a very well made replacement (likely done at the same time as the other maintenance work), and the still-working original tuners were put in the case in favor of modern Waverly machines using the same screw holes. Cosmetically the guitar shows some signs of play wear throughout, but is free of cracks or other major repairs. Comes in a hardshell case.
