The Gibson L-48 was introduced in 1946 as an entry level 16" archtop, and most were all mahogany. This late '47/ early '48 model features the laminate mahogany top, back & sides, paired with a mahogany neck with a rounded profile. The pickguard and bridge are all original to the guitar; the tuners appear to be original with replacement buttons. The tailpiece also appears original, but the upper part where the strings seat appears to be replaced. The guitar is free from any cracks, but does show some minor wear and finish checking. Currently the guitar plays great up the neck on original frets. Comes in a hard case.
