This Explorer is from the first year Gibson reissued the model in 1976, and this is one of the first 100 or so produced with the much larger neck profile (.922” at the 1st, 1.068” at the 12th fret). It is surprisingly light for a 70’s Gibson, especially a Gibson of this size, weighing in at 9.4 pounds. It is in original condition with the original finish, gold stop tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge, gold tuners, gold “tar-back” Bill Lawrence-era humbuckers, speed knobs, and white pickguard. The guitar shows some minimal fret wear, but no major pitting. Comes in the original hardshell case.
