1970-1972 Gibson ES-335 TD
$3,995.00
Case: Original hardshell case & modern hardshell case
Description:

This early Norlin-era ES-335 features a six digit serial number and full-length center block, making it from somewhere between 1970 and 1972. The finish, tuners, bridge, tailpiece, pickguard, and witch hat knobs all appear original to the instrument; the tuners are later “Kluson Deluxe” replacements that utilize the correct footprint, and the strap button at the neck heel is not original. Either the guitar didn’t leave the factory until ’75, or the pickups and wiring harness were swapped with stamped “Patent Number” pickups and a wiring harness that dates to the 42nd week of 1975. The neck on the guitar was reset to correct the angle and the guitar was refretted with taller wire, both of which help the guitar immensely in the playability department. The frets show some expected wear through the first 6 frets (mostly under the B & G string), but the guitar plays very well as set up. Comes with the original hardshell case as well as a more modern hardshell case for daily use.
