This "1939 Authentic" D-18 is one of my favorite models from the Authentic line of guitars, and this one is in remarkably good condition cosmetically. The '39 Authentic features true-to-era appointments including an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back & sides, rear-shifted scalloped bracing, all hide glue construction, 1 11/16" nut width, mahogany neck with Authentic neck carve and heel, and period-correct style 18 appointments. This model is pre-VTS (short for Martin's "Vintage Tone System"), so it sports a standard nitrocellulose finish instead of the "Vintage Gloss" formulation.
