Description:
This F-5 features a Sitka spruce top, maple back & sides, ebony fingerboard with “Artist”-style inlay pattern, adjustable ebony bridge, gold “The Gibson” engraved tailpiece, and gold open-gear tuners. The pickguard likely disintegrated, but the pickguard mount is still on the mandolin. The instrument fortunately hasn’t suffered from the binding issues that plagued many mandolins of this era, aside from some finish missing on the points. The original frets were dressed when the mandolin came in; the bridge, tailpiece and tuners are all original to the instrument. 1 1/8” nut width, action measures 5/64” bass side, 4/64” treble side. Comes in the original hardshell case.
