This “Rising Fawn” guitar, built by David Morris, is essentially a Norman Blake signature model, and features his signature on the label. It conforms largely to pre-war Martin D-28 specs: Adirondack spruce top with forward-shifted scalloped bracing, Brazilian rosewood back & sides, mahogany neck with a rounded profile and even taper, ebony bridge with vintage-style through saddle, unbound ebony fingerboard with long pattern “Diamonds and Squares” inlay, herringbone top trim and rosette, tortoise-style pickguard, and gold C.F. Martin open-gear tuners. The guitar has had a recent refret and sports good saddle height with action set at 6/64” low E, 5/64” high E. The nut width is a bit of a “tweener” at 1.72” when measured with calipers (close to 23/32”). 2 1/4” spacing at the bridge. Comes in a hardshell case.
