Aside from Les Paul himself, there may not be another artist more closely associated with their signature model guitar than B.B. King and his famous Lucille models. Originally introduced in 1980 as the “BB King Custom”, they came to be known simple as the “Lucille” by around 1986. Based on a Gibson ES-355TD, the Lucille models were primarily offered in an ebony or cherry finish. This walnut finish Lucille would have been a special order, or part of a special run of guitars. Model specs include a semi-hollow body design with no f-holes, 2 Patent Number pickups, Vari-tone rotary tone selector switch, stereo wiring with 2 jacks, tune-o-matic bridge, TP-6 tailpiece, multi-ply binding on top & back, single-bound pickguard, ebony fingerboard, large block inlays, Lucille peghead inlay, and gold-plated tuners/hardware. Cosmetically the guitar is in excellent condition, having come out of a private collection that didn’t see a lot of play time; there is some minor tarnishing of the gold hardware, and very faint shirt button wear on the back. Comes in the original hardshell case.
