1959 Gibson A-40N
$1,295.00
Case: Non-orignal vintage Geib case
Description:

The A-40N features a solid spruce top, laminate mahogany back & sides, solid mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. This 1950’s example features a more rounded neck shape than the earlier models with a 1.20” nut width. The action at the 12th fret measures 4/32” on the low side, but the replacement Loar-style bridge doesn’t have further room for down travel and would need to  be re-shaped from the bottom for lower action requirements. The pickguard and tailpiece are both original to the instrument; the tuners are later Klusons with black buttons. The mandolin comes housed in a nice (and desirable) vintage Geib case.
