1964 Gibson J-50
SOLD
Case: Hardshell case
Description:

The Gibson J-50 of this era features a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back & sides, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, rosewood "belly up" bridge with adjustable saddle, and the thicker style pickguard. This guitar has a nice, even tapered neck profile with a 1 11/16" (1.689") nut width, and plays very well thanks to a partial refret 1-12. There is one repaired crack on the top's bass side lower bout, but no other cracks to the body. The pickguard appears to have been re-glued, and one of the bridge's dot inlays is missing. The crumbling original tuner buttons were replaced, and there is an added strap button on the heel. The guitar shows very minor fret wear under the B string though the first four frets. Tonally it has the typical adjustable bridge Gibson sound: a bit boomy with focused mids and trebles that makes it excellent for recording situations, strumming, or vocal accompaniment. Comes in a hardshell case.
